The 2008 Opera Vista Competition

Posted: 02.12.2008

Wow! What a week already, and it's only Tuesday. I've been up to my ears in opera scores since yesterday was the deadline for the Opera Vista competition. We received 5 times the number of scores from last year, and last year felt nuts. I think we panicked a bit when we saw how many entries we had for the competition.

Of course, we're excited about it!

A number of countries are represented, from Argentina to Germany to Canada. Quite a number of them look incredible. It's going to be a very exciting competition.

On that note - the dates for the Opera Vista Festival have been finalized. (Finally!) The festival will take place from May 29 through June 7, 2008. We're excited to be performing R. Timothy Brady's Edalat Square and David T. Little's Soldier Songs. Both tied for first prize in last year's competition.

I think it's going to be a VERY exciting festival.

Other than that, things are pretty normal these days. I'm studying Pictures at an Exhibition for my concert in Williamsport, PA. I'm excited about that. It looks like a really pretty town (home of the Little League World Series) and I think the program there is a blast.
